Cemetery Lanterns

This installation explored the five stages of grief with a walking route through Aalborg general cemetery (Almen Kirkegård).

Large lanterns adorned the route, ending in the columbarium where visitors could contribute with their own little lantern.

The installation was heavily situated, thus investigating the site was paramount - Lynch maps, serial visions, topographic and historical maps.

A laser cut, topographic map demonstrated our installation at the university building.

Digital design and laser cutting allowed us to make a lot of smaller lanterns
