Social8 ‘tentadress’
Social8 was a dress which ‘armed’ its wearer with four additional soft-robotic appendages.
The garment invited and altered physical contact, functioning as a social insurgent.
Each arm was autonomous, with its own Arduino “brain” and electric motor “muscles”.
The zoomorphic tentacles were inlaid with capacitive sensors, and would embrace others when near the wearer.
